Identifying Safety & Workers’ Compensation Improvement Opportunities Across a Multi-Site Services Organization

Challenge

Challenge

A large, multi-site services organization sought an independent assessment of its Health & Safety program to identify opportunities to reduce workplace risk, improve safety performance, and better manage the financial impact of injuries and workers’ compensation claims.

With employees operating across a distributed footprint, management needed greater visibility into the effectiveness of existing safety policies, training, organizational responsibilities, and operating practices.

The objective was to move beyond a traditional compliance review and provide leadership with a clear, prioritized understanding of where meaningful improvements could be made.

Solution

Solution

FSI conducted a comprehensive Health & Safety assessment combining program review, safety data analysis, onsite observations, and direct engagement with employees and management.

FSI evaluated existing Health & Safety policies, processes, programs, organizational structure, and training practices. The team also reviewed historical safety performance, including OSHA logs and workers’ compensation loss runs, to identify trends, recurring exposures, and potential cost-reduction opportunities.

An onsite operational assessment and employee interviews provided additional insight into how documented policies and procedures translated into day-to-day practices.

FSI consolidated its findings into an executive-level assessment and prioritized improvement roadmap, providing management with actionable recommendations across:

  • Health & Safety policies, processes, and programs
  • Organizational structure and accountability
  • Employee training and safety practices
  • OSHA recordkeeping and incident trends
  • Workers’ compensation loss trends
  • Onsite operating practices and employee observations
  • Priority risk and cost-reduction opportunities
  • Recommended actions to strengthen the overall safety program
Impact

Impact

Over an approximately two-month engagement, FSI completed an independent assessment of the organization’s Health & Safety program and developed a prioritized set of opportunities for improvement.

The evaluation gave leadership a clearer view of both operational safety risk and its potential financial implications, connecting safety practices with incident trends and workers’ compensation performance.

Rather than a generic compliance audit, FSI delivered an actionable framework management could use to prioritize resources, address identified gaps, and determine where changes could have the greatest impact.

  • ~2 Months — Comprehensive Assessment & Recommendations
  • 25+ — Safety Programs & Processes Assessed
  • 20+ — Improvement Opportunities Identified & Prioritized
  • 1 Roadmap — Actionable Framework for Management

The result was a clear, independent view of the organization’s Health & Safety program—highlighting strengths, identifying gaps, and providing management with a practical roadmap for improving safety performance and reducing risk.
